Tamakkan Stresses Personal And Leadership Values

Seminar presented in collaboration with Mubadala GE Capital

Tamakkan launches its new season of leadership seminars in collaboration with Mubadala GE Capital Americas (Access GE), which will be hosted at the Mamoura Auditorium in Abu Dhabi. Tamakkan, an entrepreneurship and leadership initiative, presents this seminar in collaboration with Mubadala GE Capital PJSC, as part of its knowledge sharing efforts aimed at entrepreneurs in SMEs and intrapreneurs working within corporations.

The kick off session is on “Setting Your Personal Leadership Values” by strategy expert Mary Romeo, a Learning Leader for GE Capital.

Romeo will provide insight on the importance of a company’s vision, mission and values (VMV) and the need to develop a personal mission statement to streamline your goals. “It is critical to set a clear VMV for your company. This ensures your employees are aligned and motivated towards a common goal and this will in turn help build the culture for your company,” said Romeo. “Post the economic downturn this has been one of the most popular trainings for corporations.”

Romeo will also present the Leadership Toolkit which are practical techniques to help enhance business performance. “Throughout my 40 plus years of experience, I have come across some very simple yet practical tools that have been instrumental in allowing companies to run more effectively,” she said.

In her 17 years with GE, Mary has worked in several GE Capital roles. She designed and taught curriculum for the Risk Management Leadership Program. During the Risk assignment, Mary became one of GE Capital’s first Certified Master Black Belts. After risk management, Mary designed curriculum and taught six sigma and various organizational development classes for GECA CLOE (Center for Learning and Organizational Excellence). From CLOE, Mary was recruited as one of the founding members of Commercial Finance Access GE where she has solved challenges and brought GE expertise to thousands of GE customers worldwide. Mary is 2013-2014 NAPW (National Association of Professional Women) Woman of the Year. During her professional career of over 42 years Mary has taught for undergraduate, graduate and military schools. Mary holds two Masters Degrees, Magna Cum Laude, in Education and Science Education; she worked on the United States Project 2061 for Science and Math. Mary is abd PhD in Curriculum and Instruction at Indiana University.
