Tamakkan organised a seminar on Big Data Analytics to share and simplify the science and mystery behind the numbers. Experts from US and China on analytics led the interactive panel idsucssion which helped the participants learn more about how data matters, how to analyse behaviour of the people and how to create “models” to predict the actions of target audiences.

Yong Chen



Prof. Yong Chen is an Assistant Professor of Biostatistics at University of Pennsylvania. He received his Ph.D. in Biostatistics from the Johns Hopkins University in 2010. His current research focuses on statistical methods for electronic health record data, longitudinal/recurrent events data, and inference using big data.


Xitong Guo



Prof. Xitong Guo is a Full Professor in Information Systems at School of Management, Harbin Institute of Technology. He received his Ph.D. in Information Systems at the City University of Hong Kong and Ph.D. in Management Science and Engineering at the University of Science and Technology of China. His current research focuses on e-Health, social computing and IT enabled innovation.

Algorithm and IT Solutions

Lei Tang is a senior algorithm engineer/team lead at and leads the algorithm and modeling development for Push Marketing Team, applying state-of-arts big data analytics tools and machine learning/statistics techniques to help driving revenue up and improving customer engagements.


Kathy Ning Shen

Kathy Ning Shen

Dr. Kathy Ning Shen is an Associate Professor in Information Systems at University of Wollongong in Dubai. She is specialized in digital marketing, consumer behaviour and quantitative analysis. She got her Doctoral degree in Information Systems from City University of Hong Kong. She has published more than 70 refereed journal and conference articles.
